Urge Congress to Advance Whole-Person Integrative Healthcare

A new bipartisan Congressional effort, led by Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., and Mike Coffman, R-Colo., will provide legislators and other policy and regulatory officials opportunity to understand how shifting focus in healthcare to prevention, health creation and health promotion can create cost savings while improving health outcomes for Americans.
We need all members of Congress to support this important effort. Take action now and contact your elected Representative!

FDA Update
AS A REMINDER (this was sent out previously):
People from these six states need to take action –
Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Washington and Tennessee.
See information below for the details.
Many of you have contacted us out of your concern to learn the latest on responding to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Draft Guidance issue. We want to let you know that NASH has been collaborating with all of the homeopathic organizations. One of those organizations, the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) is particularly familiar with the regulatory requirements for manufacturing and have a long history of working within the FDA regulations. AAHP also has an active expert Legislative and Regulatory Committee and a dedicated lobbyist in Congress.
NASH would like to share the recommendation, as advised by AAHP, for Phase 1 of the most effective strategy.
(Phase 2 will be comprised of a more grassroots response; when that is appropriate and effective we will inform you of those details.)
Phase 1 – This is what needs to happen now.
In review: The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has regulated the manufacturing and marketing of homeopathic medicines since 1938. In 1990, to help create consistent and enforceable guidelines for the sale of these medicines, FDA enacted Compliance Policy Guide 400.400 (CPG 400.400), Conditions Under Which Homeopathic Medicines May be Marketed in the United States. CPG 400.400 provides manufacturers of homeopathic medicines with clear and established safeguards for the manufacturing of the medicines.
Action needed now: For those in the states of Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Washington and Tennessee – your state has Members of Congress that sit on the committees that have oversight of the FDA and its actions. These Members have the opportunity to draft a letter to the FDA that requests the Agency to incorporate key aspects of the current working guideline into new draft guidance it proposed in December 2017. In doing so, the new guidance will be more effective in guiding manufacturers to produce consistent, high-quality and safe homeopathic medicines and ensure you continue to have access to homeopathic medicines in your health care.
Please go to the following link for more specific information on how you can help:
Consumers ask your U.S. Senators and House Representative to write the FDA regarding homeopathic medicine
Thank you for your help, The NASH Board
